Government requests media not to broadcast Sheikh Hasina's statements
The government has urged the media to refrain from broadcasting or publishing statements, interviews, or speeches of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

On Friday (July 10), this request was made in a press release from the Department of Information.

The press release stated that on December 5, 2024, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) imposed a ban on broadcasting Sheikh Hasina's statements. Additionally, according to existing laws, there are legal restrictions on broadcasting statements, interviews, or audio-video speeches of any convicted fugitive under court verdicts.

In this context, the government has called upon all platforms, including television, radio, newspapers, online news media, and social media, not to broadcast or publish Sheikh Hasina's direct or recorded statements and speeches.

The Department of Information further stated that the country's media, relevant institutions, and citizens have been requested to provide necessary cooperation by properly following existing laws and court directives.
