The state will ensure a suitable environment for fulfilling the dreams of the youth: Prime Minister on Population Day
In a message on World Population Day 2026, Prime Minister Tareq Rahman said that ensuring a healthy, educated, skilled, and dignified life for every citizen is one of the key commitments of the current government. He called for the active participation of the youth to transform the demographic dividend into sustainable development strength.

In a message given on Friday (July 10), the Prime Minister said that this year's theme, 'Realize the hopes and aspirations of the youth, build a beautiful future with today's preparation,' is consistent with the national development vision.

He said that Bangladesh's future depends on a generation that will be educated, skilled, tech-friendly, healthy, humane, and innovative. To develop the dreams and potential of the youth, the state will ensure an environment where they have access to quality education, employment, and improved healthcare services, and can build a safe and dignified life based on their own desires and capabilities.

The Prime Minister further said that the youth are the main driving force of the information technology and knowledge-based economy. Therefore, the government is working to increase their capabilities in the domestic and global labor markets through acquiring modern skills.

Regarding healthcare, he said the government is working tirelessly to ensure accessible, quality, and accountable healthcare for all. Alongside this, efforts to make family planning programs more effective, expand technology-based healthcare, and develop skilled human resources are ongoing.

In his message, the Prime Minister mentioned child marriage, adolescent motherhood, and malnutrition as major challenges to national development. He said these problems have long-term negative impacts on human resource development, women's empowerment, education, and maternal and child health.

He also informed that to address these challenges, the government is implementing integrated initiatives to prevent child marriage, expand sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents, improve nutrition, and strengthen life skills-based education programs.

Prime Minister Tareq Rahman expressed hope that if every young man and woman can grow up healthy, educated, skilled, and confident with equal opportunities, they will be the main driving force of a prosperous Bangladesh in the future. At the same time, he wished success for all programs organized on the occasion of World Population Day.
