We are July businessmen, not extortionists: Nasiruddin Patwari
Nasiruddin Patwari said that over the past 17 years, businessmen have been victims of various types of extortion and political harassment. He claimed that during that time, many businessmen could not conduct business normally due to the activities of Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League leaders and activists.
He said, 'Many businessmen participated in the July movement with the expectation that they would no longer have to pay extortion money in the new Bangladesh. But after August 5, they saw that more extortion was being demanded than before. If they had to pay 100 taka before, now they have to pay 200 taka. Was this the expectation of the new Bangladesh?'

In the street rally, he demanded a speedy trial for the murder of Shaheed Osman Hadi and called upon the relevant authorities to ensure an extortion and terrorism-free business environment in the country.
