Police Super Md. Sufi Ullah disclosed this information during a press briefing at the Pabna Police Super's office on Tuesday (July 14) around 11 PM.
The arrested individual is Mirajul Islam (28), son of Yasin Ali from Uthuli village in Jibannagar upazila, Chuadanga.
The Police Super said that as part of the ongoing special anti-drug operation, Faridpur Thana police set up a checkpoint at the Godown Mor area in Faridpur municipal town on Tuesday evening. During this, a suspicious silver-colored private car was stopped and searched.
During the search, three plastic bags hidden in a special way inside the rear compartment of the car were recovered. Later, upon opening the bags, 500 bottles of Phensedyl were found.
In this incident, the driver Mirajul Islam was arrested. Police also seized the private car used for transporting the drugs.
The Police Super further said that a case under the Narcotics Control Act is being processed against the arrested individual. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to identify the source of the recovered Phensedyl and others involved in this network.
