A group is trying to fish in troubled waters under the cover of the movement: Home Minister
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has commented that a group is trying to embarrass the government and take advantage of the situation under the cover of the ongoing student movement surrounding the HSC and equivalent examinations.

He said this on Thursday (July 16) at a ceremony at the Secretariat awarding recognition for the commendable work of the police.

The Home Minister said, 'There is a group that wants to embarrass the government. They want to fish in troubled waters through the student movement.'

He said the decision to hold the exams despite adverse weather was made after discussions with all relevant parties. However, arrangements have been made to retake the exams for those who could not participate due to the inclement weather.

Salahuddin Ahmed said that the mistake in the physics exam question will be investigated and action will be taken against those responsible. At the same time, the matter of affected examinees has been taken into consideration. He also commented that the examinees are satisfied with these decisions.

He said, 'We are not giving undue importance to these matters. The number of people talking about these issues is not very large. The government is not paying attention to such activities.'

Referring to the student movement during the interim government, the Home Minister said that at that time, incidents such as entering the Secretariat and suspending exams and passing without exams occurred through the movement, which the government could not control.

He said the current government is committed to conducting exams in a cheating-free environment. 'The quality of education in the country had fallen very low. We are working to improve the quality of education by ensuring a cheating-free environment,' he added.
