Opportunity for employees to enjoy two consecutive 4-day holidays in August
In the upcoming August, government and private sector employees will have the opportunity to enjoy two consecutive four-day holidays. This opportunity arises from the government-declared holidays for 'July Mass Uprising Day' and the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH).

According to the government holiday calendar, August 5 (Wednesday) will be a general holiday across the country on the occasion of 'July Mass Uprising Day'. Although the following day, August 6 (Thursday), is a working day, if one can take a casual leave on that day, they can enjoy a consecutive four-day break including the weekly holidays on August 7 and 8 (Friday and Saturday).

Similarly, subject to moon sighting, a general holiday has been scheduled for August 26 (Wednesday) on the occasion of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH). In this case, if one takes a one-day leave on August 27 (Thursday), they can again get a consecutive four-day holiday including the subsequent weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday.

In addition to government employees, employees of private institutions that observe weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday can also avail the opportunity of a long break of four days in two phases by taking one day of casual leave in the same manner.

It is noteworthy that earlier, due to the declaration of an additional day of holiday by executive order on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, government officials and employees enjoyed a consecutive seven-day holiday. At that time, the government had also extended the scope of the general holiday to ensure a smooth Eid journey.
