Investigation report against 41 including Sheikh Hasina

In the case filed over the killings that took place during a Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Shahbagh's Shapla Chattar on May 5, 2013, an investigation report naming 41 people as accused has been submitted to the prosecution of the International Crimes Tribunal.

The investigation agency submitted this report on Sunday (July 19) morning.

Fugitive former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been made the main accused in the case.

Other accused include former Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed, former State Minister for Home Affairs Shamsul Haque Tuku, former Inspectors General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed and A K M Shahidul Haque, and retired Major General Ziaul Ahsan.

Other accused in the case include former chief editor of Ekattor Television Mozammel Haque Babu, former chief reporter Farzana Rupa, and writer and journalist Shahriar Kabir.

After the investigation report is submitted to the prosecution, the next legal proceedings of the case will be conducted according to the rules of the International Crimes Tribunal.
