On Sunday (July 19), the operation was carried out by entering the flat on court orders. ACC Deputy Director Md. Mashiur Rahman confirmed the matter.
According to the recovered warranty card, the watch is a Rolex Cellini Date (Model 50519), made of 18-carat white gold. Its serial number is 73452459.
The card mentions that Saifuzzaman Chowdhury purchased the watch on January 24, 2019, from London's famous department store Harrods. His name is also listed as the owner on the warranty card.
According to information found online, the market value of a used model of this watch is approximately 13,000 to 17,000 US dollars. The price of a new or unused model is around 16,500 US dollars, which is over 20 lakh taka in Bangladeshi currency.
It is noteworthy that before the 2024 national parliamentary elections, allegations were raised against Saifuzzaman Chowdhury of acquiring a huge amount of assets abroad. After the political change in the same year, the ACC began an investigation against him. Subsequently, multiple cases were filed against him on charges of irregularities and corruption.
On Sunday, around 10:30 AM, following court instructions, the ACC entered his Gulshan flat and began the process of inventorying the assets.
