He made this request during a meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr. Abdullah Jafar H. Bin Abiyah at the Saudi Embassy in Gulshan, Dhaka, today afternoon.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has set back-up accommodation at 2% for the 2027 Hajj. This will increase the cost of Hajj. For this reason, the Religious Minister requested that back-up accommodation for Bangladesh be kept at 1%, as in the 2026 Hajj.

The Saudi Ambassador informed that he received a semi-official letter from the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding this matter yesterday (Sunday) and has forwarded it to the Saudi government with recommendations. He praised Bangladesh's Hajj management this year. Additionally, the Saudi Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the prompt action of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on any bilateral issues.

It is noteworthy that this semi-official letter from the Ministry of Religious Affairs mentions keeping catering optional and setting the service price for Service Package-3 similar to the value of Service Package 'D' in Mina-Arafat.

The Minister thanked the Ambassador for his outstanding role in Bangladesh's Hajj management this year. At the same time, he thanked the Saudi government for making the overall Hajj management beautiful, orderly, and smooth.

The meeting discussed strengthening and consolidating the existing relations between the two countries, as well as matters of mutual interest.
Earlier, when the Religious Minister arrived at the Saudi Embassy, the Ambassador gave him a warm welcome.

Senior officials of the embassy were present at the meeting.
