He made this remark in response to a question from journalists during a briefing at the Secretariat on Tuesday (July 21).
Dr. Zahid Ur Rahman said, the Prime Minister has formed a cabinet. If it is felt that someone assigned with responsibilities is not working as expected, the Prime Minister can decide to reorganize portfolios or redistribute duties as necessary.
He said, "At the end of the day, ensuring the welfare of the people is the main goal of the government. The Prime Minister has the authority to take any necessary decision to achieve that goal."
However, the Information Advisor also said that it is not possible to specify at this moment whether a 180-day performance evaluation will be considered in the case of cabinet reshuffling or redistribution of responsibilities.
Regarding cyberbullying, he said that many innocent and respected individuals are being defamed through the spread of misinformation, disinformation, and fake videos on social media. The government is determined to prevent such propaganda. For this purpose, an initiative has been taken to form a special panel comprising lawyers and relevant experts.
Regarding the country's law and order situation, he said the Ministry of Home Affairs is handling the situation competently. Criticism of the government's activities is permissible, but any activity that violates the law is not acceptable.
