Saudi Arabia interested in investing $1 billion in Bangladesh's port sector
Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in investing approximately $1 billion (100 crore) in Bangladesh's ports, railways, and logistics sectors. High-level meetings have been held between the two countries on this matter.

During the weekly press briefing, it was reported that on July 14, a delegation led by Saudi Arabia's Vice Minister of Transport and Logistics, Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, met with Shipping, Railways, and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Rafiqul Alam.

The meeting discussed increasing the capacity of Chittagong and Mongla ports and the potential for Saudi investment in mega projects such as the Bay Terminal. The Shipping Minister invited Saudi investors to invest in Bangladesh.
