On the other hand, the fallen autocrat Sheikh Hasina has announced her return to the country next December. It is learned that a roadmap titled 'December to March' has been prepared, including a list of which Awami League leaders will return with her. Following Sheikh Hasina's instructions, her henchmen have taken to the field with the mission of creating a favorable context for her return and destabilizing the country. They are systematically carrying out multifaceted propaganda or disinformation to weaken the current government and create unrest in the country.
Unfortunately, some dishonest and deprived individuals within the BNP are falling into the trap of this conspiracy of the plotters. Some controversial individuals who failed to secure desired benefits within the government have engaged in 'paid' propaganda targeting the Prime Minister's most trusted people.
A responsible source concerned has informed that the Assistant Personal Secretary (APS) of a minister of the current government has a direct hand behind this paid propaganda conducted on social media and various platforms. According to a survey by the fact-checking organization 'Rumor Scanner', in the first six months of 2026 alone, 351 completely baseless rumors were spread about Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and 50 about the Prime Minister's daughter Zaima Rahman. Furthermore, extensive disinformation is being constantly spread on social media against the Prime Minister's Press Wing and his confidants. Among the recent victims of these planned disinformation campaigns are Local Government Deputy Minister Mir Shah Alam and Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon. Essentially, to politically embroil the government in controversy and create discontent, attempts are being made to fabricate one concocted issue after another targeting these two influential ministers.
It is noteworthy that the outgoing Awami League government had appointed its own people based on party considerations at all levels, including the country's administrative structure and law enforcement agencies, for the past 17 years. They played a key role in all misdeeds, from illegally keeping the then-government in power to vote rigging. A large portion of those officials and employees appointed during the previous government's tenure are still in various levels of the administration. They are essentially continuing covert conspiracies to put this government in extreme difficulty, remove the current administration, and reinstate Sheikh Hasina to power, so that their past empire of corruption and plunder can be rehabilitated.
Following Sheikh Hasina's direct instructions to create unrest in the country, they are continuing their mission to controversially target BNP ministers and MPs from within. Analysts believe that Local Government Deputy Minister Mir Shah Alam and Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon are primarily falling victim to this administrative conspiracy.
The recent movement centered around the postponement or rescheduling of the HSC examinations is a clear example of this conspiracy. Conspiratorial quarters tried to incite this movement from behind and reap benefits. When they created a movement by blocking roads, it was seen that the presence of non-students, members of the banned Chhatra League and Awami League families was higher than that of ordinary students.
It is learned that the main target of the conspirators from the beginning was Local Government Deputy Minister Mir Shah Alam. Shortly after taking charge, he adopted a tough stance against the controversial activities and corruption of some bureaucrats. This angered a bureaucratic circle. Additionally, a section within the BNP became jealous of Mir Shah Alam's growing popularity. Consequently, a group became desperate to portray him as controversial and dishonest to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. They have joined hands with 'paid propaganda groups' active on social media and leaders of the Awami League and other opposition political parties.
Despite Mir Shah Alam sending written instructions not to name any institution or establishment after any of his family members, ignoring that directive, a proposal was sent to name an educational institution after a family member to put him in administrative and political difficulty. Later, that erroneous and motivated information was spread on social media, making him a target of extensive trolling and disinformation. Without understanding and knowing the actual facts, some BNP leaders and activists also joined that disinformation campaign and started criticizing. Not only domestically, but some bloggers abroad are also continuing this propaganda against the Deputy Minister in exchange for money, behind which the name of a minister's APS repeatedly surfaces.
Political analysts say that to uproot a large tree, one must first prune its branches. The fallen fascist Awami League and its henchmen are adopting the same strategy to weaken the current government. That is why they are attempting to controversially target the trusted people around the Prime Minister, so that public trust in the government is eroded overall.
Because if disinformation is spread against someone close to the Prime Minister, ordinary people easily believe it. Opposition political forces are using this weakness as a weapon.
Regarding the overall situation, former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Anwar Ullah Chowdhury said, “I think this is a deep conspiracy. Spreading rumors and disinformation deliberately is highly reprehensible. Those involved in these misdeeds are mentally very mean and envious. The government should immediately identify these propagandists, bring them under the law, and ensure exemplary punishment.” Renowned Islamic thinker and speaker Maulana Junayed Al Habib, highlighting the religious perspective on this matter, said, “Spreading any disinformation without verification causes confusion, discord (fitna), and deterioration of mutual relationships in society. Islam strictly prohibits such acts. Spreading rumors is considered obscenity and fitna.”
He further added: “Islam's clear guidance on avoiding rumors and propaganda is: to verify thoroughly whether any news is true, not to say anything false except the truth, to protect the honor of others, and to refrain from unnecessary talk. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave a clear saying: 'Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent.' Therefore, we should all keep ourselves free from such misleading propaganda.
