No plan to increase fuel prices further: Commerce Minister
Commerce Minister Khondkar Abdul Muktadir has said that the government currently has no plan to increase fuel prices further. He stated that although there has been some price increase recently, the country's fuel market has been relatively stable over the past few weeks.

He said this in response to questions from journalists after inaugurating a day-long free medical camp, family planning, and child health service program at the Lakkatura tea garden area in Sylhet Sadar Upazila on Friday (July 24).

Highlighting the government's position on the fuel market, the Commerce Minister said there is no decision to increase prices under the current circumstances. Necessary steps will be taken after observing the market situation.

Regarding the new tariff policy of the United States, he said there has been no real change for Bangladesh. The tariff rate that was previously in effect has been maintained under the country's own legal framework after the stipulated time ended.

He further said that there is no fear of any additional impact on Bangladesh's export trade due to the recent announcement by the United States.

At that time, the administrator of Sylhet City Corporation, the chairman of Sylhet Development Authority, and leaders and activists of various levels of the district and metropolitan BNP were present.
