Acting President to Work from Bangabhaban, Reside at Speaker's Official Residence

Acting President and Speaker of the National Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has announced that he will conduct his official presidential duties from Bangabhaban. However, he will continue to reside at the Speaker's official residence located within the National Parliament premises.

He disclosed this information during a media interaction on Saturday (July 25).

Following his assumption of office, special security measures have been heightened at the Speaker's official residence and its surrounding areas as part of the standard presidential security protocol. These reinforced measures have been in effect since Friday afternoon.

Earlier, after President Md. Shahabuddin stepped down citing health reasons, Speaker of the National Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed assumed the role of acting President in strict accordance with constitutional provisions.

Outlining the acting President's upcoming official itinerary, his Press Secretary Shayrul Kabir Khan informed that Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will place a floral wreath at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar at 11:00 AM on Sunday to pay solemn tribute to the nation's heroic martyrs. Later, at 12:30 PM, he will offer prayers and pay his respects at the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
