Urgent message regarding gas supply in Titas area
Due to technical faults at the LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) terminals located in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, the supply of re-gasified LNG (RLNG) has decreased significantly. As a result, industrial, commercial, CNG and residential customers in vast areas under Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company may face severe gas crisis.

Titas Gas Authority informed this information in a notice on Sunday (July 26).

The notice said that due to technical problems at the LNG terminals in Maheshkhali, the supply of re-gasified LNG to the national grid has decreased by about 450 million cubic feet (MMCFD). As a result, gas pressure has significantly decreased in Titas Gas distribution areas.

Severe low gas pressure may continue in various areas under Titas until the situation improves. In particular, there is a risk of disruption to normal gas usage for industrial factories, commercial establishments, CNG filling stations and residential customers. The authority also warned that gas pressure may decrease further in many areas during peak hours.

Titas Gas has expressed sincere apologies for the temporary inconvenience to customers. At the same time, it has been informed that the concerned organizations are working to quickly resolve the technical fault and normalize the LNG supply. It is hoped that once the supply normalizes, gas pressure will gradually return to its previous state.
