In her speech as the chief guest, the minister said, Government Devendra College has been spreading the light of education for 84 years. Language soldier Rafiq Uddin Ahmed was a student of this college. This college has contributed to various mass movements and national important activities, including the language movement, the Liberation War, and the July 2024 movement.
The minister said, Martyr President Ziaur Rahman taught us how to love the country. She urged the new students to contribute to nation-building by being inspired by patriotism.
She further said, “I have come to serve you. I have received your love. Following my father's ideals, I want to repay the debt of your love through all kinds of development activities, including the expansion of education in Manikganj.” At that time, she sought prayers from everyone present.
Earlier, the minister inaugurated the ‘Shaheed Zia’, ‘Liberation War’, and ‘July Memory Corner’ at Government Devendra University College.
The event was attended by Member of Parliament for Manikganj-1 constituency S A Jinnah Kabir, along with senior officials of the district administration.
