Ad-Din Hospital gets license back under 3 conditions
The government has withdrawn its decision to cancel the license of Ad-Din Hospital in the capital's Big Maghbazar. Considering the investigation committee's report satisfactory, the hospital has been allowed to resume operations under three conditions.

On Monday (July 27), the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued an order in this regard.

The order stated that after the hospital authorities appealed against the decision to cancel the license following the death of six newborns at the hospital, an investigation committee was formed to review the matter. The committee was instructed to conduct a spot investigation and submit a report.

After the investigation, as the committee's report was found satisfactory, the order to cancel the hospital's license has been withdrawn.

However, three conditions have been imposed for operating the hospital. The conditions are—

  • All provisions of The Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (Regulation) Ordinance, 1982 must be properly followed.
  • The required number of duty doctors and nurses must be appointed quickly as per the license conditions.
  • If any license condition is violated in the future, the government will be able to take necessary measures according to the existing law.

The order, signed by Health Services Division Secretary Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, has informed the hospital's executive director about the matter. Copies of the order have also been sent to the relevant departments and officials.

Earlier, after the deaths of six newborns at the hospital sparked widespread discussion, the government canceled the hospital's license. Later, after the hospital authorities appealed, permission was granted to resume operations conditionally based on the investigation committee's recommendations.
