Culture Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury gave this information at a briefing held in the conference room of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs at 11 am on Tuesday (August 4).
He said, at the inaugural ceremony scheduled for 9 am Wednesday, the Prime Minister will be present as chief guest and unveil the museum's plaque. After the inauguration, he will tour the museum's various galleries and learn about the history of the July Mass Uprising through artifacts, photographs, documents and memorabilia preserved there.
The Culture Minister said, the museum has been established to preserve the memory of the July Mass Uprising as a historic chapter of the anti-fascist democratic movement, to present the true history of the struggle to the new generation, and to commemorate the sacrifices of the martyrs and July fighters.
He informed that at the inaugural ceremony, July fighters and members of martyrs' families will reminisce about the heroic tales and sacrifices of the July Mass Uprising. Additionally, a documentary highlighting the course of events of the mass uprising, the participation of ordinary people, and the history of victory will be screened.
In the cultural segment of the event, the spirit of the July Mass Uprising, patriotism and democratic values will be showcased through patriotic songs, recitations and other performances by eminent artists of the country.
In the concluding part of the event, the Director General of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum will express gratitude to the guests, July fighters, members of martyrs' families, media workers and all concerned.
Senior government officials, representatives of various ministries and departments, diplomats, academics, intellectuals, cultural personalities, political figures, July fighters, members of martyrs' families and media personnel will be present at the inaugural ceremony.
The Culture Minister further informed that there will be an online ticket collection system for entry to the museum. The ticket price has been fixed at 50 taka for adults and 25 taka for children.
