He made these remarks on Sunday (August 9) while inaugurating a 15-day divisional tree plantation campaign and fair at Bells Park in Barishal city. The event was launched with the release of balloons and festoons.
The Information Minister said Bangladesh—especially its coastal areas—is facing severe risks due to climate change, and a global solution is needed. He warned, "If we are not conscious about energy use, the temperature will become unbearable. Therefore, we must make this planet livable through tree plantation."
After the inauguration, he visited the 50 nurseries participating in the fair. The Barishal Divisional Tree Fair will remain open daily from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The event was attended by divisional and district administrations, as well as students from various educational institutions.
