Natyakendra's 15th production 'Punnyah' is being staged today at 7 PM at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Written by Badruzzaman Alamgir and directed by Yusuf Hasan Arko, the play tells the story of a village in Kankurgachhi devastated by a violent storm, where people become lost in the complex reckoning of sin and virtue. A society plagued by destruction, hatred, and reformation gradually spreads across the world—a powerful metaphor for today's global crisis.
The lively performances of skilled actors including Jhuna Chowdhury, Iqbal Babu, Sangita Chowdhury, Konok, and others keep the audience engaged on stage for more than two hours. Director Arko has crafted an impeccable stage arrangement with a mix of young and veteran artists, creating an aesthetic theatrical experience through light, music, and decor.
