409 engineers of Public Works Department transferred through lottery

409 engineers of the Public Works Department have been transferred through lottery. Today, on Sunday, 152 assistant engineers (civil) and 67 assistant engineers (E/M) were transferred in the conference room of Purta Bhaban at Segunbagicha. On the same day, 135 sub-divisional engineers (civil) and 55 sub-divisional engineers (E/M) were also transferred.

Based on the lottery, 100 assistant engineers were transferred and posted in various offices of Dhaka division, 20 in Rajshahi division, 34 in Chattogram division, 20 in Khulna division, 12 in Barishal division, 7 in Sylhet division, 9 in Mymensingh division and 17 in Rangpur division (civil and E/M).

Besides, in the sub-divisional engineer post, based on the lottery, 79 sub-divisional engineers were transferred and posted in various offices of Dhaka division, 18 in Rajshahi division, 32 in Chattogram division, 20 in Khulna division, 10 in Barishal division, 9 in Sylhet division, 7 in Mymensingh division and 15 in Rangpur division (civil and E/M).

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Md. Sarwar Alam, Additional Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Kazi Md. Firoz Hasan, Superintending Engineer Muhammad Sarwar Jahan and Swapan Chakma were present at the lottery programme arranged to ensure transparency, impartiality and discipline in transfer and posting.

At that time, Additional Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Md. Abul Khayer, Ashraful Haque, Deputy Secretary Khan Md. Nazmus Shoaeb and Deputy Secretary Md. Abu Naser along with other engineers were present.

It is to be noted that on July 30 last, 767 sub-assistant engineers (civil) of the Public Works Department were transferred through lottery, and on August 3, 2026, 254 sub-assistant engineers (E/M) were transferred.
