A government source confirmed this information today, Monday.
Earlier, Nasimul Gani was appointed on a contractual basis to the post of Cabinet Secretary on February 16, 2026. After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024, he was appointed on contract to the post of Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs on December 22 of that year.
Nasimul Gani is an officer of the BCS 1982 batch administration cadre. In 2009, he was made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Ministry of Public Administration. After four years as OSD, he was retired from service in 2013.
On the other hand, Md. Ehsanul Haque was appointed on contract to the post of Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on October 12, 2025. Earlier, he was the Senior Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division.
Md. Ehsanul Haque is an officer of the 1982 BCS (Administration) cadre. In a career spanning over four decades, he served in various administrative and leadership positions including Assistant Commissioner, Upazila Magistrate, Metropolitan Magistrate, Upazila Executive Officer, First Class Magistrate, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat, and District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhalakati district.
In addition, he served as Chairman of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, and as Director General in the office of the Prime Minister/Chief Adviser.
