New President to Take Oath on Friday Evening
The newly elected president will take oath at 7pm on Friday (21 August) at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban. Chief Whip of the National Parliament Nurul Islam Moni informed this on Wednesday afternoon.

Distinguished guests likely to attend this colourful event include the acting president, the head of government, cabinet members, politicians, members of parliament, Supreme Court justices, senior civil and military officials, diplomats and invited guests.

Md. Sahabuddin resigned from the post of president on 24 July. Afterwards, Speaker of the National Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed took over as acting president.
