MP Ghazi Nazrul not invited to parliamentary standing committee meeting
Expelled Jamaat leader and Satkhira-4 Member of Parliament Ghazi Nazrul Islam was not called to the first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. He is a member of this 10-member committee.

The meeting was held on Tuesday (18 August) under the chairmanship of committee president Md. Monirul Haque Chowdhury. It began with a recitation from the Holy Quran and an introduction session. Later, the heads of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, the National Freedom Fighters Council, the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust and the July Mass Uprising Directorate presented their respective activities.

Committee members and Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan, State Minister Ishrak Hossain, Members of Parliament Md. Fazlur Rahman, Md. Abdul Hannan, Amir Ejaz Khan and Rokeya Begum participated in the meeting.

At this time, the Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, heads of departments, directorates and agencies under the ministry, senior officials, and concerned officials of the National Parliament Secretariat were present.

After a video of a 'personal moment' spread on social media, Jamaat-e-Islami expelled Ghazi Nazrul Islam from the party on 22 July. The next day, they formally informed the Speaker of the National Parliament and the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) via a letter. In the letter, necessary measures were requested regarding Ghazi Nazrul Islam.
