Speaking at the meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Coordination and Implementation Committee on Thursday, he said that a coordinated action plan has been taken by various ministries so that persons with disabilities can get equal rights and opportunities like other citizens.

He informed that identification and healthcare activities for disabled children have begun in Korail slum. In addition, through the 'Shishu Swarga' project in 22 upazilas of 22 districts, medical services for disabled children and persons will be ensured at upazila health complexes.

The meeting was informed that initiatives have been taken to ensure 25 percent fare discounts for persons with disabilities in rail and metro rail, and disability-friendly infrastructure at new stations. Emphasis is also being placed on increasing accessibility for persons with disabilities in education and digital platforms.
