On Thursday, BNP candidate Mirza Fakhrul was elected in the presidential election with 255 votes. His rival, 11-party alliance candidate Colonel (retd.) Oli Ahmad Bir Bikram, got 88 votes.
After voting from 2 pm to 5 pm, Chief Election Commissioner A M M Nasir Uddin announced the results. There were a total of 349 voters in the election, of whom three were absent from voting.
