He told journalists at the RAB Media Centre in Karwan Bazar on Thursday that the matter has been clarified in the draft of the proposed new law. Cases ongoing against members under RAB will not be stopped even if a new force is formed.
He said that the new law has specified the structure, activities, subordination and accountability of RAB members. Provision has also been made to bring any member to justice regardless of rank if involved in irregularities or corruption.
The RAB spokesperson said the new law is not just a change of name; it will bring major reforms in the force's structure and accountability. He expressed hope that the new law would create a ‘fresh start’ or new beginning opportunity for RAB.
