Finance and Planning Minister Amir Hossain Mahmud Chowdhury said the government has taken initiatives to restructure the education system in line with job market demands.
He said this during a dialogue on higher education with university vice-chancellors at Brac CDM Centre in Savar on Friday (August 21). He said the government is working with a target of 5 percent GDP growth in the current fiscal year and there are plans to allocate 5 percent of GDP to the education sector as well.

The minister further said that for improving universities, not only research but also proper use of funds and transparency in expenditure play an important role.
