The US Embassy issued the warning in a message posted on social media on Saturday (August 22) morning. In the message, students were urged to follow the prescribed visa rules and regulations to maintain their legal status in the United States.
The embassy's message said that if any student stops studying, remains absent from classes, or withdraws from their study program without notifying the relevant educational institution, their student visa may be canceled.
The embassy also warned that not only could the visa be canceled, but in such situations there is also a risk of losing eligibility to obtain a US visa in the future.
In this context, students have been advised to always comply with the conditions of their visas to avoid potential complications. They have also been urged to remain careful about maintaining their legal status as students in the United States.
Foreign students going to the United States for higher education must continue their stay and studies in accordance with their designated academic program. Therefore, if there is a need to change the nature of study or program, it is important to follow the relevant educational institution and immigration-related rules.
In this recent warning from the US Embassy, the importance of Bangladeshi students following visa-related rules more carefully has been particularly highlighted.
