Dowry case against Misbah, allegation of nine marriages

In the complaint, Humayra Jannat claimed that she married Misbah on May 4, 2020 according to Shariah. A son was born to them on January 21, 2025.

The complainant alleged that at the time of marriage, Misbah concealed information about his previous four marriages. Later she came to know that besides Humayra, Misbah had married nine times in total. The lawsuit also claims that none of these marriages were completed through kabinama or marriage registration.

The case was filed last Thursday (August 20) at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Dhaka. The plaintiff's lawyer Advocate ABM Ibrahim Khalil confirmed the matter.

According to the lawyer, the lawsuit also mentioned allegations of multiple marriages and relationships with women against Misbah. However, these allegations are still pending in court, and the defendant's response has not been known yet.
