Zahir Uddin Swapan has resigned from the post of Minister of Information and Broadcasting. A notification was issued in this regard by the Cabinet Division on Saturday.
The notification said the President has accepted Zahir Uddin Swapan's resignation, and it will take effect immediately.

After resigning, Zahir Uddin Swapan was appointed as political adviser to Prime Minister Tareque Rahman. In this position, he will receive the status, salary, allowances and other facilities of a minister.

Meanwhile, Barrister Andaliv Rahman Partha has been given responsibility for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in place of Zahir Uddin Swapan. A notification was issued in this regard on Friday night.
