President Mirza Fakhrul moves into Bangabhaban today
Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will move into Bangabhaban today, Sunday (August 23). Preparations have been made at Bangabhaban for a formal reception for the president on this occasion.

President's Office sources said he will arrive at Gate No. 2 of Bangabhaban around 11am. There, a well-dressed contingent of police and the President Guard Regiment will give him a guard of honour. After the formalities, he will go to his office at Bangabhaban.

Earlier, on Saturday morning, the president paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar.

Last Thursday, Mirza Fakhrul won the presidential election with 255 votes. The following day, on Friday evening, he took the oath at Bangabhaban and formally assumed the responsibilities of the president.
