With this, his regular official activities as President at Bangabhaban have begun.
Earlier, on Friday evening, Mirza Fakhrul took oath as the country's 23rd President at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban. The next day, on Saturday, he paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar.
In the presidential election held in the National Parliament on August 20, Mirza Fakhrul was elected with 255 votes. His rival Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmad got 88 votes.
