Development expenditure of 10 ministries and divisions zero in July
In July, the first month of the current fiscal year 2026-27, 10 ministries and divisions could not spend any money despite having allocations for development projects. As a result, the implementation rate of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) during this period stood at only 0.69 percent.

The information came to light in a report published by the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) of the Ministry of Planning. In the ADP, against a total allocation of more than Tk 308,924 crore, Tk 2,121 crore was spent in July.

The ministries and divisions with zero expenditure include Industry, Commerce, Religious Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Civil Aviation and Tourism, Health Services, Health Education and Family Welfare, Bridge Division, and several others.

On the other hand, in terms of amount, the Local Government Division spent the most on development in July.
