State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shah Alam has said the government will decide on launching e-rickshaws in the country within the next 8-10 days.
He said this to journalists after paying tribute at the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Saturday (August 29).

The state minister said local government elections will be held within the current fiscal year. The elections will be free and fair, and there will be no scope for party influence or fielding candidates on party basis. However, there will be support for qualified and dedicated individuals.

He said the government is ready to release necessary funds for organizing the elections. Funds will be arranged according to the Election Commission's plan.
