Expatriate Welfare Minister going to USA to attend FOBANA conference
Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment and Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haq Chowdhury is going to Los Angeles, California, USA to attend the '40th FOBANA Convention 2026' as chief guest.

He is scheduled to leave Dhaka at 1:40 am on the night following Saturday via an Emirates Airlines flight. The convention will be held from September 4 to 6 at the Universal Hilton Convention Center in Universal City.

Expatriate Bangladeshis, community leaders and businesspeople from various states of the USA and Canada will participate in the conference. In addition to delivering the chief guest's speech at the inaugural ceremony, the minister will join a special business lunch with the Mayor of Los Angeles on September 5.

During the visit, he will discuss various issues including the welfare of expatriate Bangladeshis, bilateral trade and the labour market. He is scheduled to return home on September 8 after the conference ends.
