Police have arrested Abul Kashem Pallab, former two-time chairman of Sylhet's Bianibazar Upazila Parishad and joint general secretary of Upazila Awami League, in Dhaka.
Around 11:30 pm on Saturday (August 29), Badda Thana police arrested him from the capital's Bashundhara Residential Area.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bianibazar Police Station Abu Zafar Md. Mahfuzul Karim confirmed the matter and said that at least 20 cases, including murder cases, have been filed against Pallab in various police stations including Sylhet and Bianibazar.

Police said he was arrested on charges of involvement in multiple cases.
