Land Minister seeks UNDP cooperation in modernising land system
Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu has emphasised strengthening partnership with international development partners, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to modernise the land system, launch one-stop services and ensure transparency in services.

On Sunday, he said these things during a courtesy meeting with UNDP Resident Representative Steven Rodriguez at the minister's office in the Ministry of Land. Various matters of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.

During the meeting, the Land Minister called for the use of modern technology in land management, institutional investment in training and research, and increasing international cooperation.

At this time, State Minister for Land Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin informed the UNDP Resident Representative about various plans of Bangladesh's land management and digitalisation. Mentioning digitalisation of land services as a significant achievement of Bangladesh, he said digital services have empowered people, increased transparency in government activities, and reduced the dominance of middlemen.

UNDP Resident Representative Steven Rodriguez said he would work closely with the Government of Bangladesh, development partners, civil society, the private sector and local communities to accelerate inclusive development, strengthen disaster resilience, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He said having the opportunity to contribute to Bangladesh's development journey is a matter of pride for him. He expressed his commitment to working jointly with the government and development partners to create sustainable and inclusive new solutions for people's welfare while building on previous achievements.
