Recruitment process for 2 lakh Bangladeshi workers to Malaysia may begin in September
State Minister for Local Government Mir Shah Alam has said that the process of recruiting around 2 lakh workers from Bangladesh to Malaysia may begin from next September. He also said that apart from recruiting workers through various recruiting agencies, there is an initiative to recruit another 10,000 workers from Bangladesh free of cost.

The State Minister told journalists this information after a meeting with the Malaysian Ambassador at the Secretariat on Sunday (August 30).

In addition to manpower export, cooperation in the infrastructure and energy sectors was also discussed. It was decided to use Malaysia's rubber-mixed bitumen technology in road construction in Bangladesh. Malaysia will provide technical assistance to Bangladesh in this regard. Cooperation was also announced in the renewable energy sector.

Meanwhile, Mir Shah Alam said that rickshaw movement on the capital's main roads will be stopped. A law has been enacted in this regard, and the rules will be finalized soon.

Two- and four-seater e-rickshaws will be brought under registration in the capital. However, six-seater e-rickshaws will not be allowed to operate or be registered on Dhaka roads. These e-rickshaws will be allowed to be registered in various cities outside Dhaka.
