During the meeting, Yao Wen conveyed greetings to the President on behalf of Chinese President Xi Jinping. He also invited the President to visit China at a convenient time.

During the meeting, the Chinese ambassador informed the President about the progress of various aspects of the Prime Minister's recent visit to China. He said, as part of the visit, progress has been made on laying the foundation stone of the China Economic and Industrial Zone, signing a commercial agreement for modernising Mongla Port, and potential cooperation in establishing Mongla Export Processing Zone.

Yao Wen expressed hope that at least 30 Chinese companies will invest about $500 million in Bangladesh. He also said this could create employment for around 100,000 people in the country.

The meeting discussed the integrated management and restoration project of the Teesta River, the early launch of a foreign minister-level strategic dialogue, and initiatives to start state minister-level "Two Plus Two" diplomacy and defence dialogue.

Besides, discussions also covered export of jackfruit, mango and guava from Bangladesh to China, solar energy, setting up electric vehicle assembly plants, the China-Bangladesh-Myanmar economic corridor, and strengthening bilateral cooperation to address the Rohingya crisis.

During the meeting, the Chinese ambassador also mentioned Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's visit to China during his tenure as minister.

In the meeting, both sides expressed determination to further strengthen the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and China and take them to new heights through multifaceted cooperation. The President expressed hope that the Prime Minister's recent visit to China will further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
