He gave the instruction at a meeting held at the Secretariat on Monday (August 31). The meeting discussed law and order situation of the three districts, river erosion, electricity, health, food and fertilizer supply and various public interest issues.
The state minister said coordination among various departments of field administration must be increased to ensure development and public welfare of the districts. He advised Deputy Commissioners to regularly visit upazilas as well as promptly inform him about emergency and public interest issues.
The meeting informed about strengthening regular drives, community policing and social awareness campaigns to control drugs and gambling. Emphasis was also placed on quickly disseminating accurate information to prevent rumors and identifying river erosion and other local problems and taking prompt measures.
The state minister instructed to ensure timely fertilizer for farmers to avoid artificial crisis in fertilizer supply. He also called on local administration, elected representatives and relevant organizations to be more responsible in cleanliness and waste management.
Mir Shah Alam said if they work in an integrated manner, the development activities of the districts can be accelerated. He also informed that he would visit the concerned districts to inspect the actual situation of development and public services on the ground.
