On Monday (August 31) noon, the President made this call during a courtesy call by BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui at Bangabhaban.
During the meeting, the BGB Director General congratulated the President on assuming office. He then informed the President about BGB's overall activities and the initiative to incorporate state-of-the-art drones and modern technology into the force to further intensify border surveillance.
The President said BGB's role as a vigilant sentinel in stopping smuggling, drugs and human trafficking at the border is extremely important. He also praised the initiative to use modern technology in border security.
He assured the BGB of necessary overall cooperation from the government side to enhance its capabilities.
During the meeting, the President's secretary and senior officials of Bangabhaban were present.
