Malaysian High Commissioner pays courtesy call on Shafiqur Rahman

The meeting was held at the official residence of the opposition leader on Minto Road in the capital at 10:30 am on Thursday (September 3). Malaysian Embassy’s First Secretary Faiz bin Mohammad Mokhtar and Hazwan bin Hasnol were present at that time.

During the meeting, discussions were held on various issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and Malaysia. Emphasis was placed on further strengthening the historic and friendly relations between the two countries and expanding the areas of bilateral cooperation.

In the meeting, the Malaysian High Commissioner praised the role of Jamaat as the opposition party in the National Assembly. Besides, discussions were held on Malaysia’s possible cooperation in resolving Bangladesh’s energy crisis and the issue of Rohingya repatriation.
