Malaysia has limited the multiple entry visa (MEV) facility for citizens of 31 countries in Asia and Africa, including Bangladesh. Under the new rules, Bangladeshi tourists will generally be issued single-entry visas, with reduced chances of obtaining a one-year multiple entry visa.
According to a notice from Malaysia's Immigration Department, from September 1, 2026, multiple-entry visas will not be issued across the board to citizens of all countries.

However, multiple-entry visas will be issued for specific travel purposes such as business, medical treatment, fly and cruise, and wedding tourism.

Malaysia's new decision applies only to visit or social visit visas. It has no direct impact on work permits or employment-related visas of Bangladeshis or other foreign workers employed in the country.
