Religion Minister Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaykobad gave this information at a press conference held at the Secretariat on Sunday. He said the money has been surplus from the Hajj package due to savings in house rent and service charges. It will be sent to the bank accounts of the concerned pilgrims.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs said the amount of refundable money will vary depending on the Hajj package, type of accommodation and seat upgrade. Pilgrims will get comparatively less under the general package and more for seat upgrades.
Under Package-1, pilgrims of various categories will be refunded from around Tk 38,697 to a maximum of Tk 1,80,573. In different categories of Package-2, refundable amounts range from around Tk 2,505 to a maximum of Tk 78,713.
Besides, according to different accommodation and seating arrangements of Package-2, some pilgrims will get refunds from Tk 3,000 to more than Tk 44,000. Under the general Hajj Package-3, each pilgrim staying at Hotel Nandar One will receive Tk 3,718 and 9 paisa.
