She said this in her speech as chief guest at the opening ceremony of the 11th BAPA FoodPro International Expo-2026 at International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital on Thursday. Later, the minister visited various stalls at the fair.

The Food Minister said that in the development of the country's food industry, production of safe and quality food, processing, and the use of modern technology are important. Quality control must be ensured at every stage from food production to processing, preservation, and marketing.

She said that if the food processing industry is built modern and technology-oriented, it is possible to ensure fair prices for agricultural products, reduce waste, create employment, and increase exports of domestic products. By utilizing modern technology and innovation, there is an opportunity to further strengthen the position of Bangladesh's food products in the international market.

The Food Minister said that events like the BAPA FoodPro International Expo are playing an important role in creating connections among domestic entrepreneurs, technologists, and international partners.

The exhibition is jointly organized by Bangladesh Agro-Processors Association and Rainbow Exhibition and Event Management Services Limited. More than two hundred brands from 37 countries are participating in this year's exhibition.
