The DSCC administrator said, to be protected from dengue, city residents along with the city corporation must be responsible. Along with keeping houses, courtyards and surroundings clean, water must not be allowed to accumulate for more than three days on roofs, in drains, in flowerpots, or under refrigerators or air conditioning units.

He said, especially if water accumulates in basements of under-construction buildings and causes mosquito breeding, no concession will be given. Negligence in saving people's lives will not be tolerated.

The administrator said that a nationwide dengue prevention and cleanliness campaign will start from September 12, and students must actively participate in this programme every Saturday. The new generation must lead in dengue prevention and environmental protection.
