Shahina Nasrin, an officer of the 34th BCS Administration Cadre, joined as UNO of Nasirnagar on November 7, 2024. In an allegation of irregularities in recruitment to several posts, including khatib and imam at the Model Mosque, job applicant Golam Mostafa filed a case in court on March 3, 2025, against four people, including UNO Shahina Nasrin and the Deputy Commissioner. His allegation was that although he scored higher in the written examination, he was given no marks in the viva, while the selected candidate was given 18.5 marks in the viva. He also alleged financial transactions in the recruitment.

There are also allegations of irregularities and attempts to misappropriate 240 sacks of government salt during distribution. According to the allegation, on June 5, 2025, while salt was being stolen and sold, several employees were detained, but later, to cover up the incident, contractual cleaner Rakibul Hasan was blamed and dismissed. Rakibul claims he was made out to be a mentally ill person just to save the main accused.

Allegations of irregularities have also emerged in the leasing of water bodies and khas ponds. Locals claim that ponds were leased out in collusion with government employees using the names of inactive cooperatives. The secretary of a related cooperative also alleged that in leasing the Beel Kupa water body, genuine fishermen were excluded and a powerful clique was favored.

Locals have made similar allegations regarding the leasing of temporary and permanent cattle markets. They claim that many lease aspirants who wanted to buy schedules were not given the opportunity to participate in the tender. It is alleged that although some markets were leased out by showing bids only slightly above the base price, large financial transactions took place behind the scenes. A UP member also alleged that in the leasing of the permanent cattle market in Fandauk, a competitor was offered a compromise.

Besides, there are more allegations, such as irregularities in family card distribution, filling government ponds, renovation of the pond in front of the government residence, quotation work, filling agricultural land, and use of Upazila Parishad allocation funds. There are also allegations of embezzling money by doing only token work against an allocation of Tk 30 lakh in the construction of the road adjacent to Fakirdia Chak Bazar in Chatlapar Union.

Regarding the allegations, Shahina Nasrin said that the imam recruitment matter is under trial in court. Although there was some unrest during the leasing of the cattle market, she controlled it strictly. She admitted that there were various recommendations in family card distribution, but claimed no irregularities occurred. The officer also stated that the other allegations are not true and everything was done following the rules.
