He said this on Saturday while inaugurating a bypass road built alongside the railway line from College Road to Kazir Bazar in Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat.
Hasan Rajib Pradhan said, in line with election pledges, the process of constructing a bypass road in Hatibandha is underway. A proposal has been made by meeting the Prime Minister to upgrade the highway from Lalmonirhat to Burimari to four lanes. The project's survey is also underway.
The road, built at a cost of Tk 14.5 lakh through the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, is 775 feet long and 10 feet wide. Local people said it will serve as an alternative route to reduce traffic congestion in Hatibandha town.
The MP said the road currently built will be further expanded and extended in the future. It will gradually play the role of a full-fledged bypass.
He also said efforts are being made to carry out all activities in public to prevent waste and corruption of government money in development projects. Their goal is to ensure every taka of the government is spent properly.
