Rift in US Awami League over programs surrounding Tarique Rahman's visit
Among US Awami League's demands are the withdrawal of the ban on the party's activities, the cancellation of cases and sentence against Sheikh Hasina, and the release of detained political leaders. The organization's president, Siddikur Rahman, said they will not hold any unpleasant program and are also willing if there is an opportunity for dialogue.
However, a section of Awami League is opposing his stance. They have taken a position in favor of tough programs to resist Tarique Rahman and his travel companions. Conflicting remarks are also being seen among leaders and activists on social media over this.
